Tutorial 2

1. Draw a closed shape using the curve tool in Rhino. Open Grasshopper and add a curve battery.

2. In Grasshopper, type “populate” and select the populate 2D tool.

3. Right click on the curve battery and select the “set on curve”, select the drawn curve.

4 & 5. On the populate 2D battery, right click on the B, and select the “set on rectangle” and draw a rectangle in Rhino over your drawn curve.

6. Type “Voronoi” and select the Voronoi tool.

7. Plug the P out of the Populate 2D into the P of the Voronoi.

8.& 9. Right click on the B on the Voronoi battery, and select “set one boundary”. Draw over the same rectangle as the populate 2D region.

10.&11. Add a number slider, set it as integers and values 0-100. Copy and paste with ctrl+c and ctrl+v.

12. Under the curve tab on the top menu, go to “Util” and select “offset curve”.

13.&14. Add a new number slider, and change the values to -1 to 1. Adjust the number to -.250

15. Plug the C from the Voronoi battery into the C of the Offset battery.

16 Under the Intersect tab on the top menu goto Shape and select “Region”

17. Plug the Curve battery into the A of the region and the Offset into the B, if something strange happens, right click the B and select GRAFT

18. Select all of the batteries and right click- Preview off.

19. Adjust the Count and seed in the Populate 2D battery.
